Prepare a mixture of red ochre (5 parts) and yellow ochre (1 part). The colour must be fluid with a good proportion of emulsion. Apply the puddle so that you pull the pigments towards the lighter parts. For example, for the nose, apply the colour on top of it the root of the nose and pull the mixture downwards towards the base of the nose and raise your brush.
Before doing the highlights, you need to know precisely where to apply the highlighting puddles. Study well these areas on various models postcards or illustrations in books and work cautiously. While drying, the puddle may look a bit strange. Do not worry, wait until it is completely dry and do not touch anything. You can only worsen it!
