The second highlight of the flesh
The second highlight of the flesh is also done using the puddle technique, but the highlighted areas, or at least the areas of strongest pigment density, are significantly reduced. The colour for this highlight is composed of an equal amount of red ochre and yellow ochre (50 / 50). The mixture must be liquid enough and contain some emulsion. Make sure to blend the colour well each time you reload the brush. Apply your puddle on the clearer areas, extend it and add a little bit of water to your mixture when you move away from the source of light. Once you have applied your puddle, wait a few minutes and add some water almost pure all around it to avoid the appearance of egg marks and obtain a beautiful transition between the different tones.
