To give the maphorion its final colour, use transparent pigments to prepare a dark plum-red colour. Avoid covering pigments such as Venice red, because they will cover the transparent layers under it. Look at the different steps you have to follow to obtain the right colour on the video below:
- Take a good proportion of burnt Siena.
- Add a good proportion of egg emulsion and a bit of water.
- Add a good proportion of Helios red and two drops of alcohol to dilute the mixture.
- Add a touch of ultramarine blue to give it a plum tone.
- Add a hint of black to obtain the contrast you desire.
- Add a good dose of emulsion.
Your glazing colour is ready.
without modelling and avoid going over the same area twice. When the puddle is completely dry, you can glaze it a second time and even modify the colour, darkening it for example, until the colour pleases you.
When you have finished glazing, clean the areas you have messed up with your work with a scalpel.
