| Transferring the drawing Once the essential lines of the drawing have been drawn on paper, they are transferred on a board of the following size: 34 x 24 cm, with a 2 cm wide frame. A layer of red ochre is applied with the finger on the back of the page and the latter is fixed onto the board with some scotch tape. Then, the transfer is done with a hard point – a pen will do perfectly. Retrace precisely all the lines. The drawing must be retraced with a red lead. Verify the halo with a compass and carefully place the inscription. Using a red lead is a useful precaution. Indeed, drawing with graphite (pencil) is much messier. Once you finish the drawing, you can engrave all or part of it. |
