The basic colour of the flesh (sanquir, proplasmos) The proplasmos of Roublev's Trinity's flesh is quite light, in spite of being contrasted enough and the faces in particular have a very warm and brilliant golden colour. Thus we chose a quite clear colour base: red ochre (6 parts), yellow ochre (2 parts) and a touch of viridian. For the hair, we added a little more of viridian and a small touch of ultramarine blue. The colour must be solid and transparent enough to leave the lines of the drawing visible after drying. |
